--When was The Coverup Girls started, and who runs it?
CUG was created in 2006 by Cynthia. She is the Editor in Chief and Head Photographer of Coverup Girls and runs this entire organization and it's responsibilties. The Web-developer is her partner in crime, Ernesto, and he handles all technical and web-coding issues.

--What does CUG stand for?
"CUG" is short for "Coverup Girls" (and yes, some girls frequently sound it out. Rhymes with "hug"!)

--What does being a Coverup Girl involve?
It involves sending in quality Photosets at least once a month, building a sort of "modeling portfolio" for yourself. It involves being part of a self-empowered tightly-knit community of fellow Coverup Girls, and being a part of something great. It's about representing unconventionality and self-acceptance.

--I'm interested in modeling with you, how do I become a Coverup Girl?
You'll need to fill out the application in the application section of this website.

--How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 17 years old to be a Coverup Girl.

--Is there any certain physical criteria I must meet?
No! We have regular size, skinny size, and plus sized models! There are no height or weight requirements, and no particular style we are looking for either. We are looking to have a very broad range of all kinds of beautiful women.

--Can we include nudity in our sets?
Coverup Girls is not allowing nudity (artistic, pornographic, or otherwise) at this time. Though we have nothing against adult modeling websites, we don't want to be mistaken for one. Implied nudity is considered acceptable granted they are done in a tasteful manner. TheCoverupGirls.com and it's owners retain the right to reject any sets that we deem distasteful or inappropriate for the site.

--Where do all of our photos go?
All of your photos will be viewable here, at http://www.thecoverupgirls.com under "The Girls".

--I used to be a Coverup Girl, but I withdrew or ignored the group...can I rejoin?
Sure. You'll need to fill out a new application.

-- There are so many modeling groups out there, what makes Coverup Girls so different from all the rest?
Unlike most model groups, we will have all of your sets fully-viewable on the site. We're not subject to a certain type of style, such as alternative -- we have a diversity of models, and most importantly, we don't require our models to send in any nudity.

--When do the models turn in new sets?
New girls will get a two-week deadline to get her first set in. After that, at least one set a month is recommended.

--How many photos should each set contain?
Your photosets should never be below the minimum of 8 pictures. Our sets are usually between 8-12 pictures. We would prefer that you send in more than that, and we will pick your best 12.

--I filled out an application, will you notify me if I don't get accepted?
If we are not accepting new models at the time, we will keep your application on file and notify you when the time is right.

--Can those out of Houston, TX be a Coverup Girl?
Most definitely! We want to include girls from all over the states and elsewhere! We are currently seeking models in the UK, Canada & Japan!

--What kind of girls are you looking for?
Regular girls, aspiring models, experienced models, all kinds!

--Do I need to submit new pictures for my application or can I submit ones I've used elsewhere?
The pictures you send with your application may be pictures that have already been used.

--Can you shoot the photos of me?
If you live anywhere in the Houston area, then yes we can shoot your photos for a very small fee. Make-Up and Wardrobe Styling is also available. E-mail cynthia(at)thecoverupgirls.com for more info, or use the contact form on this site.

--My friend wants to model with me, may he/she?
Only if they are a current or past Coverup Girl.

--I don't have a photographer but I really want to be a Coverup Girl! What are my options?
If you have an artistically inclined friend who is available and willing to shoot your photos, that will work just fine. You may also e-mail cynthia@thecoverupgirls.com for help with finding a good photographer in your area.

--Can I send in more than 12 pictures?
Definitely! But please note there is a possibilty that not all of your photos will be used, we will choose what we think is your best 12.

--Is it possible to win a contest more than once?
Yes.

--One of my sets was not accepted. Why is that?
This is because your set did not meet our photoset standards. Before you turn in your first set, please read the document titled "Photo Standards" that is attached with your acceptance letter. We will always notify you if your set wasn't accepted, and all this means is to try harder the next month. We want to give you a chance to have as many quality sets on our website as possible. (Tip: If you shoot with the head Photographer, or one of our other featured Photographers, those photo sets will always be accepted.)

--What happens if I go 3 months without sending in a set?
Your profile page will be temporarily disabled until you submit new material. If a model does not turn in a set for four consecutive months, she will be removed from the site. You will need to re-apply if you want to return.

--How many photosets can I send in a month?
You may send up to 2 sets a month.

--Am I allowed to model for other sites?
Of course! TheCoverupGirls.com does not require our models to be exclusive, you may model for as many sites as you wish. We want you to get noticed through our website, You can use our website as a reference when you are applying to other sites! However, we ask that you please not send us any photos that have been used for other modeling groups.

--Can I use the photosets I send you in my portfolio or networking sites?
Yes! Don't forget to mention that the photoset is also viewable at TheCoverupGirls.com :)

--I don't like one of the pictures in my set that is up on the website, can you remove it? What about name changes, can we change that?
No. Once a photoset goes live on the site, we will not alter it unless necessary. If there is a photo you don't like in your set, please don't send it in to us. About name changes, the answer is also no. To change your name that would be changing everything with your name on it for every page. We just don't have the time for that.

--Can I withdraw from the group at anytime?
Yes. Your info will be taken down from the site, and anything else having to do with CUG.

--What do I get for modeling?
What we offer is your own personal page on the site, modeling exposure, attention, portfolio building guidance, and a really fun experience!

--What are set "no-nos"?
The no-no's are things that should NEVER be allowed in sets, these are: Real blood, self-mutilation, domestic violence, animal cruelty, depictions of rape.. etc. If you're under 18 no pictures with cigarettes & sex items (such as toys or porno mags), under 21 no pictures with alcohol. If you do any of the above, the "no-no" will be edited out, or we will reject the set altogether.

--Does this website pay models? Why not?
Unforunately, we do not pay models for being a part of this group. This site was specially made in mind to be a sort of gate-way website for models trying to gain more exposure and help build a strong portfolio that they can use for agencies, websites, and other modeling endeavors. However, there are monthly prize-winning contests as well as other benefits to being a part of this site. CuG is really about being yourself and not having to cater to any other company's standards, rather than money & pay. TheCoverupGirls.com is privately owned and operated and since we do not sell your photos for profit or make any money through this website, we do not have the resources that larger companies have. We have to fund all our endeavors out of pocket. Seriously.

--Can my photographer receive payment from you for the photos he/she took?
As much as we (as a company) would like to compensate photographers, we're just not able to. Unfortunately, the owner of the site isn't rich, isn't a heiress, or isn't a drug dealer. But she is passionate. Which is the only reason this site is here; because it's an important project for her and the girls. Not because of money. If you are unable to personally compensate your photographer, or he/she can't agree to shoot your photos on a TFCD basis, then we can't accept those photos. Sorry.

--Does this site require any kind of pay what so ever to be accepted into the group?
No way! That would be very distasteful of us as an organization. It is absolutely free to apply and model on this site. Really! :)
